Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Domenic Amato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amato comes to the cage accompanied by Gonna Fly Now. James has chosen Limp Bizkit Eat You Alive as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Domenic Amato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helio James! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amato looks to throw the jab but James is out of range. James takes a swing at Amato's ribcage but misses. Amato takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Amato cracks James with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Helio James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James thows a body shot but no joy. James ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A shot to de liver by James. Beautiful body shot. James throws a right and a left that Amato avoids nicely. Amato lands a slapping body shot.
A shot to the body from Amato misses and James counters with a lovely straight right hand! Amato moves away from the strike by James. James lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Amato stalks James and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into James's face. James staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jab, jab by Amato - just one landing. Amato fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Amato blocks a jab. James falls off balance throwing a combination
and Amato counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Some wild striking there from James.
A telegraphed right hand from Amato misses the target. James sizes up Amato with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Amato. Amato moves away from the strike by James. Amato connects with a good right hand that stumbles James. James circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Amato tries to clinch up. Amato darts in and out, connecting with a jab. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Amato. James looks to throw the jab but Amato is out of range. James throws a jab when Amato was well out of range. Amato uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Amato looks to throw the jab but James is out of range. Amato tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. James takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

A decent looking cross lands there for James. James slips under a jab from Amato. Amato throws a hook but James blocks it. James takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Amato is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Nice straight punches there by Amato. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Amato. Amato fails in his attempt to clinch. Amato missing with a left hand there. James was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. James falls off balance throwing a combination
and Amato counters with a nice double leg into guard. James keeping moving, preventing Amato from controlling successfully. James has his foot on Amato's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Amato works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Amato stacks James on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Amato! James is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Amato wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. James is working to avoid the ground and pound but Amato connects with a decent elbow. James defending against the ground and pound. Amato looks up at the clock and then as James takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Amato smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Amato landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. James is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Amato lands some shots froms side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Domenic Amato dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Amato throws a jab but it's blocked by James. A looping hook to the body misses from James. Amato does a little dance to reset his feet. James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Helio James has been cut. James takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Amato keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from James. James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Amato. Amato dodges the punch combination from James.
Amato staying out of range there. Amato comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. James takes a swing at Amato's ribcage but misses. Amato punishes James's body with a nice straight punch. Amato gets a clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Amato - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Amato turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Amato wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amato tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Amato tries to score with some ground and pound. James controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. James is not content to let Amato control the position. Amato scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. James manages to work his way to half guard, despite Amato's best efforts. Amato performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Amato is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. James controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. James looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amato trying to control from James's half guard. James has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Amato has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. James is trying to keep Amato in close.
Amato looking to sit in guard and control but James gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Amato manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Amato wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely. Amato lands a big elbow. Amato fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
James is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Domenic Amato dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Helio James's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Domenic Amato overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Amato throwing strikes from guard but James blocks nicely. Amato tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amato is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Amato trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Amato accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Amato trying to control but James is working from the bottom. Amato postures up in James's guard and throws a big left but James blocks it. James trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Amato trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Amato content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Amato in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Amato throws a strike but James rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Amato working a defensive guard here.

Helio James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. James with a flurry of punches that miss. James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Amato looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Amato misses with a combination
and James counters with a nice uppercut. Left hook, right uppercut from James. A swing and a miss from James. Amato looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. James misses with a combination
and Amato counters with a one-two to the body. Amato connects with a nice looking jab.
James throws a series of punches but Amato avoids them all with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amato circles away quickly and effectively. Domenic Amato is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Amato connects with a nice looking jab.
James takes a swing at Amato's ribcage but misses. Amato uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from James. James moves out of range as Amato strikes. Domenic Amato is winning the standup battle so far. James misses with a jab, cross combination.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Amato moves out of range of the strikes. Donk. Amato catches James right on the button with a cross. James moves out of range of the strikes. Amato moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Amato throws out the jab. Amato scores with a nice head shot. Nice defenses there by James.
And that's the end of the fight! Domenic Amato showed his dominance in that final round. Well Amato has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
