Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Martinez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Smith misses with a double jab.

Smith is trying hard to land a takedown here. Martinez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Martinez pushes him off.
Martinez throws a low kick but Smith avoids it.

Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Smith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Martinez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martinez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Martinez pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.

Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Martinez to his feet.

Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Martinez looks a forlorn figure.

BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Smith avoids the attempt from Martinez to control.

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Martinez, pushing him back against the cage.

Martinez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Smith regains guard immediately.
Martinez prevents Smith from getting back to his feet.

Martinez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martinez has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.
Smith looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Martinez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Martinez is controlling the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Martinez lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Martinez instigates a clinch.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martinez smiles and moves away.

Smith wants to get back to his feet but Martinez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

and Martinez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Martinez gets underhooks to prevent Smith's takedown attempt.
Martinez lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

and Martinez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith!

and Martinez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smith's guard.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Martinez is controlling him.
Martinez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Martinez won't allow Smith to get back to his feet.

Smith has his feet on Martinez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Martinez's face.
Joe Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Martinez regains half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Frank Martinez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
