0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mental Mike! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mike misses with an uppercut. LeBanner saw that one coming. LeBanner looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Mike throws a series of punches but LeBanner moves out of range. LeBanner moves out of range as Mike strikes. LeBanner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mike moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mike is working the combinations to good effect here. Mike tries to bum rush LeBanner with a series of wild strikes but LeBanner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mike lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LeBanner circles away quickly and effectively. Mike throws a right hand that LeBanner ducks under and follows up with a left that LeBanner also avoids with ease. Mike tries to clinch up. and LeBanner counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mike is lucky that one didn't land flush. Mike fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mike scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mike looks to score with a jab to the body but LeBanner is just out of range. Mike lands with a hook. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. LeBanner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mike lands with a cross. LeBanner has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Mike throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mike closes the distance looking to clinch and LeBanner counters with a two punch combo. LeBanner stuffs the takedown attempt from Mike. Mike gets slowly back to his feet. Jerome LeBanner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mental Mike. Mike fails to land with a series of punches.

LeBanner is trying to drag Mike to the mat but Mike just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mike escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mike cracks a nice hook into LeBanner's ribs. Mike goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Mike swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
