Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Merde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Achilles Peles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Merde comes into the arena with Mötorhead's Burner blaring out of the sound system. Peles has chosen 'Trapped Under Ice' by Metallica as his entrance music. Achilles Peles will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard Merde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Achilles Peles!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peles misses with a body shot.
Peles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Merde circles away quickly and effectively.

Peles dives in and grabs Merde's left leg, looking for a takedown. Merde pushes down on Peles's head and hops out.

Peles looks to score with a jab to the body but Merde is just out of range.

Peles closes the distance and clinches up with Merde, looking for a takedown. Peles pushes Merde against the cage but Merde circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peles is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Merde's shoulder. That is not cool.
Merde is looking to regain half guard here but Peles keeps moving and retains side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Achilles Peles just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
