Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gel Parsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simo Silli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gel Parsley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simo Silli!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parsley fails to land the takedown.

Parsley tries to close the distance and clinch but Silli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silli looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Parsley shoots in for a double leg but Silli sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Silli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Parsley goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silli has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Parsley but great work by Silli.
Parsley is trying to control Silli's posture but Silli avoids it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Silli circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simo Silli dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Parsley is pushing down on Silli's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silli is fighting to maintain full guard but Parsley has managed to sneak the leg through.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silli can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silli is refusing to be controlled, as Parsley sits in half guard.
Parsley is really struggling to control Silli but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Silli tries to get to full guard but Parsley has control of the leg.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parsley is looking to stand up but Silli won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Parsley tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Silli counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Parsley lands a glancing blow to the side of Silli's head.
Parsley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silli throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simo Silli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Simo Silli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silli has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
