Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Irv Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Clapton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Clapton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Irv Goldman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Irv Goldman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Clapton! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Clapton. Clapton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Goldman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Clapton but great work by Goldman. Goldman throws a strike aimed at the side of Clapton's head but Clapton avoids it well. Goldman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Clapton can't do much from the bottom here. Goldman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Goldman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Goldman trying to control the action but Clapton is working from the bottom. Clapton tries to improve position but can't. A control attempt from Clapton but he's now mounted! Goldman looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Goldman lands a nice shot to the head. Goldman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clapton is trying to escape the mount.
Clapton tries to hold on but Goldman postures up. Clapton stops Goldman from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Clapton is looking to improve his position but Goldman isn't that keen on the idea. Clapton wants to control but Goldman is having none of it. Clapton tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goldman unloads with some shots from mount but Clapton bucks and avoids them well.
Clapton bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Clapton stopping the sweep attempt from Goldman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Clapton with a flurry of punches that miss. Clapton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Goldman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Clapton wants to stand but Goldman is controlling his posture from full guard. Clapton throwing strikes from guard but Goldman blocks nicely. Clapton looks gassed! Goldman is trying to control the position but Clapton postures up. Clapton preventing the sweep.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Goldman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clapton trying to hold on to Goldman's head to control him but Goldman postures up.
Goldman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Clapton tries to control Goldman's body but Goldman pushes him off. Clapton squirms to his side and now Goldman has his back! Goldman has the hooks in. Clapton is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Goldman is persistently looking for the submission but Clapton is defending it well.
Clapton is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Goldman is punishing Clapton with strikes - can he finish him?!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldman looking for the choke from the back. Clapton is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Goldman off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Goldman is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Clapton trying to survive by controlling the hands. Goldman has good solid back control here. Clapton tries to break free.
Goldman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Clapton is defending well though. Goldman let's go of the attempt for now. Clapton turns into Goldman and is now in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clapton wants to control from the top but Goldman keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Irv Goldman dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Clapton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Goldman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Clapton's guard now. Irv Goldman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Goldman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clapton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Goldman with a nice head shot there. Goldman's corner is telling him to maintain position. Goldman tries to free his leg and advance position but Clapton is retaining full guard. Goldman postures up in Clapton's guard and throws a big left but Clapton blocks it. Clapton has his hands on Goldman's head, controlling the position. Goldman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clapton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Goldman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Clapton dives on top into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Goldman looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clapton controlling from the top position. Clapton preventing the sweep. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goldman is on top in guard.
Clapton manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Clapton thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Clapton is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Goldman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Goldman! Goldman drops back looking for a leg! Clapton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Clapton manages to kick Goldman off! Goldman jumps back into Clapton's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clapton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goldman is one step ahead there. Goldman with a flurry of punches that miss. Clapton is trying to keep Goldman in close.
Goldman throws and elbow that misses. Clapton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goldman's guard. Nice move by Clapton! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goldman is on top in guard.
Goldman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldman tries to advance to mount but Clapton denies him. Clapton tries to improve position but can't. Clapton looks to move to half guard but instead Goldman has passed into mount! Damn! Goldman is in the full mount, landing strikes. Goldman punishing his opponent with strikes. Clapton is in all sorts of trouble here.
Clapton tries to improve his position but Goldman has taken his back! Goldman has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Clapton tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Goldman pushes Clapton away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
