The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Penn misses. Penn cracks Fitch with a good jab. Penn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Paul Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penn misses with an uppercut. A jab from Penn misses. Fitch is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Penn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Fitch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Fitch lands a jab to the nose. Fitch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Fitch stuffs the takedown. Fitch fails to land with a series of punches.
Fitch connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Paul Penn has been cut. Fitch misses with the combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Penn. Fitch does a little dance to reset his feet. Fitch moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Penn shoots for a takedown but Fitch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fitch swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Fitch slips a jab from Penn. Fitch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Penn moves out of range of the strikes. Fitch lands with a straight right. Penn didn't see that one coming. Fitch tries to bum rush Penn with a series of wild strikes but Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fighters circling - Fitch throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn is pushing down on Fitch's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fitch is fighting to maintain full guard but Penn has managed to sneak the leg through. Penn missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Penn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Penn is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitch is defending against the submission attempts here by Penn.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Penn scores with a jab to the body. Fitch throws a nice looking combination but Penn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fitch looks to score with a jab to the body but Penn is just out of range. Fitch with a body punch. A glancing blow. Fitch's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Fitch duly obliges. Fitch moves out of range of the body kick. A shot to the body from Penn misses letting Fitch counter with a right hand. Fitch misses with a wild combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fitch.
Penn throws a lazy right hand but Fitch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Penn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fitch counters with a left to the body. Penn is breathing heavily. Fitch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn misses with a straight left. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Penn misses with a looping right. Fitch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Fitch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big right from Penn misses. Penn throws a body punch but Fitch moves out of range. Fitch takes one on the button. Penn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fitch counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Crunch! Penn slams his shin into Fitch's torso. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Penn looks to score with a jab to the body but Fitch is just out of range. Fitch lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Paul Penn's cut is getting worse. Penn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fitch was well out of range. Poor timing from Penn. Penn misses with a wild body shot. Fitch ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Fitch dominated that round. The cut man is working on Paul Penn's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Fitch ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn moves out of range as Fitch strikes. Fitch throws a jab but it's blocked by Penn. Fitch looks to throw the jab but Penn is out of range. Penn thows a body shot but no joy. Fitch takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Fitch throws the left hand but Penn avoids the punch easily. Penn showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fitch.
Penn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fitch to score with a decent uppercut.
Penn is rocked! Fitch drops Penn with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Penn! Fitch dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christopher Fitch!
