Philips comes to the cage accompanied by Dance Hall Days. Reuger is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Final Countdown. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bill Reuger!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reuger is looking to clinch but Philips is avoiding it.
Philips takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reuger. Philips does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reuger fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reuger moves in looking to clinch but Philips pushes him off.
Philips swats away the attempt to clinch by Reuger.

Reuger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reuger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reuger wants to control the pace but Philips is squirming around nicely.
The referee warns Philips that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Philips tries to lock up and control but Reuger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Philips wants to hold on but Reuger pushes him away.
Reuger wants to control the pace but Philips is squirming around nicely.
Reuger throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Philips because Reuger loaded up on that one.
Reuger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Reuger slows the pace down in half guard.
Reuger not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Reuger wants to control but Philips is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Reuger dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Reuger moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Philips avoids the head kick by Reuger.
Reuger closes the distance and clinches up with Philips, looking for a takedown. Reuger pushes Philips against the cage but Philips circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Philips lands with a right hand.
Philips cracks a nice hook into Reuger's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Philips throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reuger on the side of the head.

Philips circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Reuger to the canvas! Reuger doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Philips keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Philips!
