Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Steve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Mimms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve comes to the cage accompanied by RENEGADE MASTER. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Big Steve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wes Mimms! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mimms shoots for a takedown but Steve saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mimms looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mimms fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Steve pushes Mimms up against the cage in a clinch. Mimms jumps guard.
Mimms keeping moving, preventing Steve from controlling successfully. Mimms is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Steve defends well. Steve drops back looking for a leg! Mimms is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mimms manages to kick Steve off! Steve jumps back into Mimms's guard. Mimms wants to sweep here but Steve controlling him for the moment. Steve trying to control the position from guard on top but Mimms is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Steve decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mimms, up you get! Mimms darts in trying to clinch so Steve counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steve trying to control but Mimms is working from the bottom. Steve working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mimms controlling the position. Steve tries to free his leg and advance position but Mimms is retaining full guard. Mimms keeping moving, preventing Steve from controlling successfully. Mimms has his foot on Steve's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steve works his way back into a safe position though. Steve trying to control the position from guard on top but Mimms is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Steve is really struggling to control Mimms but he's trying to hold on to the position. Mimms is adopting a defensive guard. Steve trying to control but Mimms is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mimms is on top in guard.
Steve looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mimms pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Steve is keeping the position for now. Mimms scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mimms works over Steve with some ground and pound from guard. Mimms with a nice head shot there. Mimms is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Steve is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Steve has escaped and now he's on top! Mimms working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Steve has passed into half guard!
Mimms looks gassed! Steve looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mimms is refusing to be controlled, as Steve sits in half guard. Mimms is trying to maintain the position but Steve is very close to passing his half guard. Mimms is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steve pulls his head out easily. Steve prevents Mimms from improving his position. Steve seems to be working for a kimura but Mimms defends the submission attempt. Steve is trying to control the action in half guard but Mimms is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mimms tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mimms misses with a takedown so Steve counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Big Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Mimms. Steve wants to control from the top but Mimms keeps moving. Steve drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steve jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Steve trying to control but Mimms is working from the bottom. Mimms tries to strike from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mimms tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steve swats him away and circles back towards the center. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Big Steve dominated that round. That's time! Steve's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mimms decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Steve looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mimms seems to be working for a kimura but Steve defends the submission attempt. Steve has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mimms is working away from the top position though. Steve actively working from the bottom here. Mimms is looking for submissions but instead, Steve has regained full guard.
Steve lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mimms! Mimms tries to hold on but Steve postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steve is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mimms has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mimms tries to reverse the position but Steve maintains control. Mimms wants to hold on but Steve pushes him away. Mimms defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Steve. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mimms wants to control but Steve is having none of it. Mimms throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Mimms is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Mimms tries to hold on but Steve postures up. Mimms is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Steve is staying active.

Steve wants to finish this one by submission but Mimms is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Steve. Mimms flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Mimms is looking to improve his position but Steve isn't that keen on the idea. Mimms holds on for dear life, controlling Steve's posture momentarily. Steve has control of Mimms's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mimms regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Big Steve overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mimms regains half guard. Steve is thwarting Mimms's attempts to control the position. Steve is looking for a kimura here.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Steve walks away with a smile on his face. Mimms gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mimms misses with a combination
and Steve counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Big Steve is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steve shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mimms counters with a takedown into side control. Mimms working the ground and pound. Steve takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
You can see the frustration on Steve's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mimms working the ground and pound from side control. Mimms working the head with strikes. Mimms working away. Mimms looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Steve regains half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Wes Mimms. Well Steve has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
