Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davo Eduardo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saigo Kogihiro! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kogihiro keeps the fight on the outside. Kogihiro shoots in looking for a takedown. Eduardo tries to sprawl out of it but Kogihiro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Eduardo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kogihiro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kogihiro throws a lazy right hand but Eduardo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Eduardo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Eduardo is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Kogihiro still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Kogihiro has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Kogihiro wants to control but Eduardo is keeping him busy. Kogihiro decides to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eduardo dives in and grabs Kogihiro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kogihiro pushes down on Eduardo's head and hops out. Kogihiro misses with a hook. Eduardo ducked under it nicely. Kogihiro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kogihiro tries to stand but can't do so whilst Eduardo controls his leg. Eduardo won't allow Kogihiro to pass to mount. Eduardo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kogihiro moves into full mount! Eduardo won't be happy about that! Eduardo wants to hold on but Kogihiro pushes him away. Kogihiro moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Eduardo has worked his arm free - good work by Eduardo!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Eduardo isn't going anywhere. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Eduardo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Eduardo trying to mount his opponent but Kogihiro defends it. Eduardo wants to work for an arm triangle but Kogihiro is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kogihiro wants to control from the top but Eduardo keeps moving. Eduardo has a closed guard, preventing Kogihiro from standing up. Kogihiro stopping the sweep attempt from Eduardo. Kogihiro wants to get up but he can't break Eduardo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Eduardo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That was a close round but I would say that Davo Eduardo will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Kogihiro throws a hook but Eduardo avoids it easily. Eduardo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kogihiro. Saigo Kogihiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eduardo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kogihiro circles away. Eduardo misses with a head kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eduardo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Eduardo is working for a submission of some sort.

Eduardo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kogihiro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Eduardo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kogihiro has one foot on Eduardo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Eduardo wants to clinch up but Kogihiro keeps it at a distance. Kogihiro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A swing and a miss from Kogihiro. Eduardo slips a jab from Kogihiro. Kogihiro stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davo Eduardo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kogihiro misses the jab. Kogihiro throws a jab when Eduardo was well out of range. Eduardo slips a jab and a cross from Kogihiro.
Eduardo blocks a jab. Eduardo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kogihiro is trying to defend but Eduardo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Eduardo is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Kogihiro as he works his way to full guard.

A cross from Kogihiro lands. Kogihiro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kogihiro is trying to move to mount but Eduardo reverses beautifully and ends up in Kogihiro's guard. Eduardo has gone for a leg lock! Kogihiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Eduardo's guard. Kogihiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Eduardo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Eduardo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kogihiro throws and elbow that misses. Eduardo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kogihiro's guard. Nice move by Eduardo! Eduardo wants to pass the guard but Kogihiro is keeping the position. Eduardois looking to pass into half guard but Kogihiro pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kogihiro is in guard.

Eduardo pivots and extends the arm, Kogihiro falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Eduardo! Well done that man!
