Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain comes to the cage accompanied by Step Up. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Balboa looks to land a left hand but Pain moved out of range nicely. Pain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Balboa.
Pain swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Balboa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Pain avoids a punch combination nicely.
Balboa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pain. Pain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Balboa sprawls well. Balboa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pain gets slowly back to his feet. Pain throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Balboa sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balboa throws a series of punches but Pain avoids them all with ease. Balboa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Balboa misses with a body shot
and Pain counters with a nice double leg into side control. Balboa won't be happy with that. Balboa parries the strikes from Pain easily there. Pain is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Balboa to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Balboa keeps working. Pain with the ground and pound but Balboa regains half guard under the barage of strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pain thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Balboa's head. Pain with the ground and pound but Balboa uses the opportunity to regain guard. Pain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Balboa pushes Pain off and gets back to his feet.
Pain shoots for a double leg takedown but Balboa sprawls well. He's pushed Pain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Balboa takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Balboa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Pain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Pain working the ground and pound but Balboa is defending the strikes. Pain with the ground and pound but Balboa regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Pain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pain is looking to take a break and control but Balboa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pain throwing shots but Balboa is blocking nicely. Balboa taking some punishment here, with Pain in his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pain missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pain sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Balboa defending well though. Pain thows a huge punch but Balboa dodges it nicely.
Pain thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Balboa to regain full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Balboa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Balboa looks to land a combination. Pain sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Pain dives in and grabs Balboa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Balboa pushes down on Pain's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Balboa digs a good body shot into Pain's ribs. Pain is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Balboa. Pain is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pain misses with a looping left. Balboa scores with a nice right hand.
Rocky Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pain gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Balboa scores with a one two! Pain had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Balboa throws a good cross that connects.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pain misses with a looping left. Pain avoids the body shot from Balboa.
Pain scores with a jab. Balboa acknowledges it with a nod of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Pain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Balboa. Rocky Balboa seems to be getting the better of the standup. Balboa misses with a body shot.
Balboa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Pain rather than just go for the knockout. Pain swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Balboa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pain moves away. Balboa scores with a nice head shot. Balboa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pain manages to avoid it. Balboa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pain counters with a straight right hand. Balboa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pain.
A big right from Balboa misses. Pain jabbing away but nothing is landing. Balboa defending well as Pain loads up on a big left hand. Pain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Balboa's waist but Balboa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pain off to one side. Balboa tries to bum rush Pain with a series of wild strikes but Pain uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Balboa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pain stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pain tries for a takedown but Balboa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A swing and a miss from Pain. Pain lands with an overhand left. Balboa cracks a nice hook into Pain's ribs. Pain avoids the body shot from Balboa.

and Balboa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Balboa closes the distance and lands a one-two. Balboa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Pain counter with a right hand. Pain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pain misses with a shot to the body and Balboa counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pain ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Balboa moves away. Balboa throws out a loose jab but Pain uses good head movement to avoid it. Balboa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pain counters with a right hand to the body. Pain throws a sloppy body shot
and Balboa counters with a left and a right that stings Pain. Balboa is breathing heavily. Balboa cracks Pain with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Pain looks to land a left hand but Balboa moved out of range nicely. Pain misses with a shot to the body and Balboa counters with a three punch combo that has Pain backing up. Pain nods at Balboa to acknowledge the strikes. A jab from Balboa does it's job there. Pain tries for a takedown but Balboa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. so Pain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Balboa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pain throws a strike but Balboa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Balboa wants to get up but he can't break Pain's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pain is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Max Pain will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Pain feints and as Balboa raises his hands in defense, Pain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pain throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pain throwing strikes but missing. Pain postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balboa can do anything to dispel that myth. Pain postures up in Balboa's guard and throws a big left but Balboa blocks it. Pain won't allow Balboa to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain stands up over Balboa, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Pain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Balboa works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pain prevents Balboa from getting back to his feet. Pain thows a big elbow that misses. Pain throws a strike but Balboa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Balboa stops Pain from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balboa wants to stand but Pain has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain is looking to stand up but Balboa isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Balboa swings for the body but Pain moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Balboa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pain sees it coming and avoids it easily. Horrible takedown by Pain or perhaps it was just good defense by Balboa which made him look bad. Pain shoots for a double leg takedown but Balboa sprawls well. He's pushed Pain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rocky Balboa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A slow jab from Balboa misses its intended target. Balboa misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pain counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pain throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Balboa was well out of range. Poor timing from Pain. Pain scores with a decent looking hook. Pain lands a nice shot to the body.
Balboa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pain fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa loads up on a big right hand but Pain slips the punch.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Pain showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pain has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
