The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lukens's guard.

Lukens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lukens on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lukens tries to get out of the position.
Barton gets back to full guard.

Barton thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Lukens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Barton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lukens is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Barton off and has taken his back!
Barton tries to escape but Lukens has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Barton rolls, trying to escape but Lukens keeps control of the position.

Lukens is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Barton is defending well though. Lukens let's go of the attempt for now.

Lukens is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Barton tries to escape but Lukens has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Lukens tries to keep control of the position but Barton is staying busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lukens is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Barton has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Lukens has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Barton taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Lukens doesn't care though - he's delighted!
