Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua shoots in for a takedown but Sewell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Rua counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Rua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sewell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rua has Sewell in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sewell throws a strike but Rua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Sewell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Michael Sewell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maurico Rua.
Sewell won't allow Rua to sweep him here.

Rua has control of Sewell's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sewell regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rua connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Sewell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rua won't be happy with that.

Rua is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sewell has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Rua is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sewell is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sewell flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rua anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sewell and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rua slips an arm under Sewell chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rua has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rua is squeezing on Sewell like an anaconda would it's prey. Sewell fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
