Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashton Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ashton Walters! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walters wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance. The fighters circle momentarily. Thomas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Thomas connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Walters to the floor! Thomas dives in looking for the finish!
Walters is rocked!
It looks like Ashton Walters has been cut. Walters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Walters is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Thomas looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Walters pushes Thomas off looking to stand but Thomas dives back in and keeps control.

Walters looks gassed! Walters moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Thomas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Walters works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Thomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Walters working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Thomas.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Walters is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Walters pushes Thomas up against the cage in a clinch. Thomas breaks the clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Thomas. Thomas looks to land a combination but Walters avoids it well. Walters misses with a double jab
and Thomas counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas scores with a jab. Walters acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Walters should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Nice body kick there by Thomas. Thomas throws a series of punches but Walters avoids them all with ease. Walters swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thomas counters by clinching up. Walters has had enough of the clinch but Thomas keeps him there for the moment. Thomas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Walters has him pressed against the cage. Walters is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Thomas can't fight it off and eventually Walters manages to take the fight to the floor. Thomas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Walters not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Walters's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Walters gets to his feet - Thomas follows without any prompting. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Walters lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The fight stays on the outside here - Walters looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Walters throws a right hand that Thomas ducks under and follows up with a left that Thomas also avoids with ease.

Ashton Walters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walters moves out of range of the body kick. Walters clinches up with Thomas and pushes him back against the cage. Walters manages to break the clinch.

Thomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Thomas keeps the fight on the outside. Walters swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thomas counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Walters throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease. Thomas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Walters has managed to clinch.
Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walters shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Walters keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Frank Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashton Walters. Thomas displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Thomas moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas lands a nice looking body kick. Walters is looking to clinch. An inside leg kick lands from Thomas.

That has opened up Ashton Walters's cut even more. Walters has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Thomas. Walters tries to clinch but fails miserably and Thomas moves into the clinch. Walters breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Walters.

Walters is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him? Walters stalks Thomas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thomas's face. Thomas staggers backwards, shaken. Walters seems to have recovered his senses. Thomas misses with an attempted mid kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Walters crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Thomas - the referee stops the clock and Walters gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Thomas. Walters manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Danga de danga de dang - Walters scores with a four punch combination! Walters throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Thomas fakes the leg kick and cracks Walters in the body. Thomas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Thomas fakes the leg kick and cracks Walters in the body. Walters misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Walters looks to land a combination but Thomas avoids it well. Walters throws a lazy head kick and Thomas counters with a good, hard body kick but Walters shrugs it off. Walters throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Thomas throws a head kick that misses. Thomas throws a head kick but Walters moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walters throws a right hand that Thomas ducks under and follows up with a left that Thomas also avoids with ease. Thomas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Walters to his feet. Both fighters circling a little - Thomas finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Walters misses with a two punch combination.

Thomas gets a takedown into half guard. Walters is pressing down on Thomas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Thomas won't allow Walters to get back to his feet. Thomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Thomas advances to half guard. Thomas stands up out of the half guard.

Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Walters throws a nice looking combination but Thomas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Thomas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Walters lands a jab-cross combination. Thomas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. No joy there for Walters, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Is there anything that Walters can do to turn this around? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walters wants to stand but Thomas is controlling the position. Thomas throwing strikes but missing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Walters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Walters pushes Thomas off and scrambles back to his feet.

A left and a right from Walters both land. Nice combination. Thomas lands a front kick. Thomas shoots for a takedown but Walters saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Frank Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Good leg kick by Thomas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Ashton Walters's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Thomas lands a two punch combo.

Ashton Walters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A kick lands to the mid section there for Thomas. Walters wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance. Walters tries to clinch up. Thomas scores with a head kick.
Thomas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Thomas dodges the punch combination from Walters.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Thomas showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thomas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
