Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooks Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by Juno Reactor - Pistolero. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enrique Mendez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brooks Staal!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez misses with a straight right.
A combination from Staal does no damage.
Mendez looks to score with a jab to the body but Staal is just out of range.
Staal clobbers Mendez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mendez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Staal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A big left from Mendez misses.
Staal punishes Mendez's body with a nice straight punch.
Staal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mendez circles away quickly and effectively.
Mendez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mendez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Staal on the side of the head.
Staal's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Staal duly obliges.
Staal misses with a two punch combination.

Staal takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Staal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mendez avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Mendez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Staal tries a head kick but it misses.
Mendez lands an overhand right.
Staal is looking to score with low kicks.
Mendez misses with a straight left.
Mendez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Staal blocks the body kick.
Staal with a nice cross.
Mendez throws a nice looking combination but Staal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mendez throws a combination that misses
and Staal counters with an outside leg kick.
Mendez lands a left and a right that send Staal crashing to the mat, dazed. Mendez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Staal is rocked!
Mendez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Staal is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendez finish him?
Staal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mendez.
Staal will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mendez cracks Staal with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Staal tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Mendez pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Staal is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Enrique Mendez!
