And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Stevens.
Carter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stevens fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stevens fails with a takedown attempt.

Carter lands a high kick to the side of Stevens's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Carter dives into guard, looking to finish.

It looks like Eddie Stevens has been cut.
Stevens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Carter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Stevens is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carter connects with a nice short shot to Stevens's temple.

I looks like Carter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Stevens is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Stevens is in all sorts of trouble here.
