Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kit Latura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kit Latura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rock Wood! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Latura is defended easily by Wood. Wood lands a jab to the head.
Wood displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Latura. Latura dodges the punch combination from Wood.
No joy there for Wood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Latura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wood as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kit Latura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Latura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Latura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Latura somewhat. Latura dives in and grabs Wood's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wood pushes down on Latura's head and hops out. Latura shoots in looking for a takedown. Wood tries to sprawl out of it but Latura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wood manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wood gets caught flat footed, as Latura shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Latura not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Latura trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Latura is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Latura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Latura drops back looking for a leg! Wood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wood manages to kick Latura off! Latura jumps back into Wood's guard. Latura trying to control the position from guard on top but Wood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Latura controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kit Latura just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Latura has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.
Wood has had enough of the clinch but Latura keeps him there for the moment. Wood misses with a hook from the clinch. A short right from Latura on the inside. Wood trying to control the position but instead, Latura has worked for underhooks and has pushed Wood into the cage. Latura lands a hook to the side of the head. Latura manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood wants to get back to his feet. Latura remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Latura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wood has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The referee asks Latura politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Latura prefers to stall for the moment though. Latura tries for a kimura but Wood is defending well. Latura is trying to get an arm triangle but Wood is defending well. Wood tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Latura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kit Latura dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wood looks to land a combination. Latura sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Latura circles away quickly and effectively. Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Latura. Wood misses with a few strikes there.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Latura looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Latura wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Latura controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Latura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Wood keeping moving, preventing Latura from controlling successfully. Latura is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Wood scores with a one two! Latura had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Latura looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wood is fending him off so far but Latura persists. Nope, Wood circles away and we're back to standing. Latura looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wood's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Wood duly obliges. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rock Wood will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Latura's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Horrible takedown by Wood or perhaps it was just good defense by Latura which made him look bad. Latura fails with a takedown attempt. It's a sloppy attempt though and Latura jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wood wants to stand up but Latura is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Latura bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wood's head. Latura shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wood napping and manages to drive through into side control! Wood prevents Latura from moving into mount. Latura working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Latura throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood is trying to improve his position. Latura thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wood wants to get back to his feet but Latura drags him back down. Latura controlling the position. Latura advances nicely into full mount. Latura looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Latura fails to move to back control. Latura controlling from mount. Latura looking to control but Wood is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Latura punching from mount but Wood doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Kit Latura showed his dominance in that final round. I think Latura has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
