Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Dourado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hasashi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Into the Battlefield. Marcelo Dourado told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hanzo Hasashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Dourado! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dourado throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Marcelo Dourado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dourado is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hasashi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dourado.
Dourado throws a right hand that Hasashi ducks under and follows up with a left that Hasashi also avoids with ease. Hasashi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hasashi is trying to control. Dourado wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dourado wants to get back to his feet. Hasashi is looking for a kimura here.
Hasashi wants to take a breather but Dourado is having none of it. Hasashi is pressing down on Dourado's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dourado is holding on for now. Hasashi passes to side control. Dourado wants to get back to his feet. Hasashi wants to control but Dourado is keeping him busy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dourado can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hasashi has hold of Dourado's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Dourado tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hasashi cranks the arm and Dourado screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Dourado, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hanzo Hasashi!
