Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian YellOw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Claude Duceppe!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duceppe misses with a body kick.
Nice takedown defense from Duceppe. No joy for YellOw on that attempt.
YellOw misses with a wild body shot.
YellOw has a takedown stuffed.
YellOw avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Some wild striking there from Duceppe.
YellOw tries to clinch but Duceppe is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duceppe tries to keep at a distance but YellOw has taken the fight into the clinch.

YellOw presses Duceppe against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Duceppe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Duceppe throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but YellOw blocks it with crossed arms.
Duceppe lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of YellOw backwards.
Come on Duceppe - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

YellOw lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duceppe has a hand on YellOw's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. YellOw takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
YellOw controlling the pace for now.
YellOw breaks from Duceppe's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Duceppe is trying desperately to improve position.
Duceppe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
YellOw landing strikes, looking to finish!
Duceppe is desperately trying to improve his position but YellOw has a good base and remains in mount.

YellOw lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
YellOw content just to control the position here.
YellOw lands with some strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
YellOw takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
YellOw breaks from Duceppe's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Duceppe throws a predictable looking body shot
and YellOw counters with a one-two to the body.
Duceppe throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Duceppe tries to bum rush YellOw with a series of wild strikes but YellOw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
YellOw misses with a hook to the body
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
YellOw closes the distance and clinches up with Duceppe, looking for a takedown. YellOw pushes Duceppe against the cage but Duceppe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
YellOw tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duceppe was well out of range. Poor timing from YellOw.
YellOw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duceppe moves away.
YellOw fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duceppe manages to avoid it.

Duceppe looks to score with a jab to the body but YellOw is just out of range.
Duceppe tries to bum rush YellOw with a series of wild strikes but YellOw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

YellOw clinches.
Duceppe with an attempt at a knee that misses.
YellOw putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Duceppe in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

YellOw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duceppe avoids the body shot from YellOw.
Duceppe with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
YellOw is looking to clinch but Duceppe is avoiding it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

YellOw closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Duceppe looking for a sweep but YellOw has passed into full mount! Oh no!
YellOw looking to control and managing it successfully.
YellOw has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Duceppe working to try and regain half guard.

Duceppe is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
YellOw controlling from the full mount.
Duceppe tries to reverse the position but YellOw maintains control.
Duceppe is breathing heavily.
Duceppe regains half guard.
YellOw perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Duceppe looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and YellOw pushes past his half guard into mount!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duceppe can do anything to dispel that myth.

YellOw tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Duceppe is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian YellOw dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


YellOw is looking to clinch but Duceppe is avoiding it.
YellOw throws a head kick but Duceppe moves out of range.
YellOw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duceppe circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from YellOw misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duceppe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but YellOw was well out of range. Poor timing from Duceppe.

YellOw closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - YellOw lands in his opponent's guard.

Duceppe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and YellOw defends well.
YellOw is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Brian YellOw just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Duceppe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Good shot there by YellOw.
YellOw shoots in looking for a takedown. Duceppe tries to sprawl out of it but YellOw keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duceppe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and YellOw counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Duceppe is wriggling around but YellOw manages to pass to half guard.

Duceppe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but YellOw pulls his head out easily.
Duceppe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Duceppe tries to get to full guard but YellOw has control of the leg.
YellOw trying to pass the guard but Duceppe defending well.
Brian YellOw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Duceppe is trying to stand up here but YellOw is controlling him well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
YellOw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duceppe circles away.
Brian YellOw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian YellOw. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Duceppe throws a leg kick but YellOw checks it.

and YellOw decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Duceppe's guard.

Duceppe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. YellOw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. YellOw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
YellOw controls from within his opponent's guard.

Brian YellOw showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for YellOw, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
