The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin moves into the clinch. Kontos tries for a takedown but Martin manages to get underhooks.

Kontos is struggling to control the position. Martin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kontos up against the cage. Kontos prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kontos has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Martin regains guard immediately. Martin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Martin keeping moving, preventing Kontos from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martin has momentary wrist control but Kontos slips an elbow through the middle. Kontos postures up and lands a big shot to Martin's brow. Martin trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kontos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kontos is looking to work some ground and pound but Martin has wrist control. Kontos slips nicely into half guard. Martin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kontos. Martin tries to get to full guard but Kontos has control of the leg. Kontos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kontos throws a strike but Martin avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Kontos wants to pass the guard but Martin is keeping the position. Kontos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kontos trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom. Kontos is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kontos is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Martin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kontos.
Martin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kontos gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kontos will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Martin up against the cage. Kontos misses with a knee strike.

Stelio Kontos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Martin. Kontos is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Martin is keeping busy. Martin pulls guard effortlessly. Kontos lands a couple of elbows.

Martin has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Martin thows a big elbow that misses. Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Kontos is retaining full guard. Martin scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Martin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kontos swivels though and keeps the full guard. Martin prevents Kontos from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Martin tries to stand but Kontos is controlling from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Martin fails to land the takedown. Kontos is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kontos thows a body shot but no joy. Kontos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Martin is looking to get to half guard. Kontos scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Martin?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stelio Kontos dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kontos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Martin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kontos advances position into side control! Kontos goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Martin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kontos's guard! Nice work there by Martin! Martin throws a big right hand that misses. Kontos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martin with a nice head shot there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kontos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martin manages to get himself to full guard.

Kontos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Martin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kontos has Martin in his guard. Kontos wants to get back to his feet but Martin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kontos working for a triangle but Martin defends it easily.
Kontos has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Martin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kontos.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Martin decides to stand back up. Kontos with a body punch. A glancing blow. Martin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kontos, pushing him back against the cage. A short uppercut from Kontos. Kontos gets underhooks to prevent Martin's takedown attempt.
Kontos misses with a punch on the inside.
Martin tries to pull guard but Kontos holds him up against the cage and eventually Martin drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kontos lands a right hand. Martin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Kontos tries to break the clinch but Martin is controlling the position. Kontos trying to land knees to the body.
Kontos has Martin pressed against the cage.
Martin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kontos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Martin was covering up waiting for the punch and Kontos finishes the takedown easily into guard. Martin pushes Kontos off and scrambles back to his feet.
Martin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kontos looks to clinch and Martin counters by clinching up. Martin wants to stall.

A close second round but Chris Martin will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Kontos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kontos is just content to waste time from the top position. Martin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Kontos lands a couple of decent looking shots. Martin trying to control the position here. Kontos with a flurry of punches that miss. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kontos throws a big right hand that misses. Kontos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kontos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martin is keeping the position for now.

Martin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kontos did well to prevent Martin getting side control. Martin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Kontos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Martin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Martin's back! Kontos loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Martin hold on?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kontos trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Kontos is looking for a sweep. Martin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kontos is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard. Kontos throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kontos moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Kontos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martin is fending him off so far but Kontos persists. Nope, Martin circles away and we're back to standing. Martin staying out of range there. Martin clinches but Kontos breaks the clinch and Kontos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Martin! Kontos fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Martin tries to hold on but Kontos postures up. Stelio Kontos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Martin manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kontos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kontos is thwarting Martin's attempts to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stelio Kontos. I think Kontos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
