Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kai Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Sampson.
Slice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sampson swivels and escapes.
Sampson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sampson lands with a cross.
Slice fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sampson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Slice just leaning against Sampson, taking a breather.
Sampson is trying to break the clinch but Slice is controlling him.
Sampson misses with a punch to the body.
Slice tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Slice tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sampson just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sampson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slice smiles and moves away.
Slice dodges the punch combination from Sampson.
Sampson looks gassed!
Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sampson tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sampson to the ground. Sampson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Slice displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sampson throws out the jab.
Sampson misses with the combination.
Sampson throws a looping overhand right but Slice ducks down to avoid it.
Sampson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slice sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sampson closes the distance but Slice moves to the side

and Slice holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Slice tries to pull guard but Sampson won't allow it.
Slice tries to pull guard but Sampson won't allow it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sampson.
Slice tries to pull guard but Sampson won't allow it.

Slice jumps into guard, dragging Sampson to the mat.
Slice tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slice is on top in guard.

Sampson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slice content to stall in guard here.
Slice trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Slice trying to control but Sampson is working from the bottom.
Slice is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sampson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Slice prevents Sampson from getting back to his feet.

Slice stops Sampson from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Slice misses with a takedown attempt - Sampson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Slice pulls Sampson into guard.
Sampson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Slice manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sampson manages to get himself to full guard.
Slice trying to control the position from guard on top but Sampson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Slice won't allow Sampson to get back to his feet.
Slice is standing up over Sampson. Sampson looks to escape but Slice dives into side control.
Sampson is pushing Slice's head away, looking to escape. Slice manages to hold on to the position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kai Sampson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Slice shoots in for a takedown but Sampson shows good takedown defense.
Slice misses with a takedown attempt - Sampson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sampson throws a series of punches but Slice avoids them all with ease.
Sampson misses with a two punch combination.

Slice shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sampson sprawls well. Sampson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slice gets slowly back to his feet.
Slice uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sampson.
Sampson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sampson scores with a sloppy right hand. Slice should have avoided that one.

Sampson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Slice shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sampson but Sampson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sampson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nice sprawl there from Sampson as Slice shoots in.
Sampson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Sampson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Slice dives in and grabs Sampson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sampson pushes down on Slice's head and hops out.
Kai Sampson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slice takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Slice slips a jab and a cross from Sampson.
Sampson connects with a crisp jab.

and Slice counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Slice.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A punch lands to the side of Slice 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Sampson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slice moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sampson throws a jab but it's blocked by Slice.

Slice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sampson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slice misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Slice tries for a takedown but Sampson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kai Sampson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sampson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
