Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Willy Berthenheimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willy Berthenheimer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willy Berthenheimer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddell has Berthenheimer up against the cage in a clinch.

Liddell successfully pulls guard.
Berthenheimer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liddell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Liddell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Berthenheimer trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Berthenheimer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Berthenheimer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liddell looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Berthenheimer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Liddell bucks up and throws Berthenheimer to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Berthenheimer digs a good body shot into Liddell's ribs.
Berthenheimer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Liddell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Berthenheimer has hold of Liddell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Liddell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Berthenheimer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Liddell wants to hold on but Berthenheimer pushes him away.

Liddell sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Liddell wants to control but Berthenheimer passes into side.

Berthenheimer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Liddell tries to land a sweep but no joy.

You can see the frustration on Berthenheimer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Liddell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Berthenheimer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Berthenheimer stands up over Liddell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berthenheimer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Berthenheimer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Liddell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Liddell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Liddell!

Liddell stands up and beckons Berthenheimer to his feet.

Willy Berthenheimer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Berthenheimer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Berthenheimer.
