Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Crews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze comes to the cage accompanied by The Dropkick Murphys-The Warriors Code. Crews has chosen The Game Belong to Me-UGK as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Crews! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaze shoots in looking for a takedown. Crews tries to sprawl out of it but Blaze keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crews manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Crews dodges the punch combination from Blaze.

That's better than Blaze was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Crews is trying desperately to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crews really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blaze. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blaze looking for a guillotine from mount but Crews is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crews is bucking up trying to escape but Blaze cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Crews is trying to stand. Crews sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Blaze blocks the strikes from Crews.

Crews is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Blaze lands a nice short elbow. Crews looks like he's trying to stand up.
Blaze working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Blaze is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Blaze wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crews keeps working. Blaze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Blaze passes to full mount! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Crews tries to reverse the position but Blaze maintains control. Blaze sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Crews taking shots to the head. Blaze putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Blaze prevents Crews from getting the reversal. Blaze get's back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Crews. No joy for Blaze on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Blaze. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blaze shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Blaze.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Blaze wants to clinch up but Crews keeps it at a distance. Blaze looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crews is fending him off so far but Blaze persists. Nope, Crews circles away and we're back to standing. Crews keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Blaze. Blaze chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Blaze fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Blaze shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crews can do anything to dispel that myth. Blaze wants to control but Crews is keeping him busy. Blaze seems to be working for a kimura but Crews defends the submission attempt. Blaze seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Crews lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blaze tries to clinch but Crews moves out of range. Crews avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Blaze feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Crews is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Crews trying to strike off his back.

Blaze thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Blaze pushing down on Crews's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Crews is pressing down on Blaze's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Blaze trying to control but Crews is working from the bottom. Crews bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blaze's guard. Crews wants to pass the guard but Blaze is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Crews stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Johnny Blaze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Crews lands a big head kick that sends Blaze to the canvas! Crews follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
