Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Lavelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Lavelle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Ellis! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis wants to clinch. Lavelle slips a jab and a cross from Ellis.
Ellis tries to clinch up. Ellis missing with a left hand there. Lavelle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lavelle leaves Ellis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ellis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lavelle defends it nicely. Lavelle shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice inside leg kick there by Ellis. That's going to slow Lavelle down. Ellis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lavelle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lavelle. Ellis preventing the sweep. Lavelle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lavelle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ellis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lavelle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ellis, into his guard. Lavelle trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ellis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lavelle defends it easily. Lavelle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ellis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ellis has an active guard here but Lavelle has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lavelle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lavelle is trying to control. Ellis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lavelle stalling away here and it's allowed Ellis to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Ellis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lavelle is one step ahead there. Ellis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lavelle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ellis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lavelle manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis trying to control the position from guard on top but Lavelle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ellis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lavelle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ellis has managed to get both his arms back between Lavelle's legs - danger averted. Lavelle is breathing heavily. Ellis trying to control but Lavelle is working from the bottom. Ellis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lavelle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ellis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Ellis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ellis is defended easily by Lavelle. Ellis throws a right and a left that Lavelle avoids nicely. Ellis gets a clinch. Ellis is trying to maintain a safe position but Lavelle gets an underhook and turns Ellis into the cage. Ellis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ellis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ellis holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Lavelle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Lavelle is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ellis rolls with it to try and escape but Lavelle cranks on the arm and Ellis is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
