Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ari Birmiski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Don Krull!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birmiski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Krull bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Krull cracks Birmiski with a big elbow.
Krull working away.

Krull tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Birmiski is looking to regain half guard here but Krull keeps moving and retains side control.
Krull wants to lay and pray for a moment but Birmiski keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Krull swings around for an armbar but Birmiski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Krull's guard.
Krull is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Birmiski drops back looking for a leg! Krull is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Krull manages to kick Birmiski off! Birmiski jumps back into Krull's guard.
Krull lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Birmiski!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Birmiski is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Krull breaks from Birmiski's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Birmiski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Krull is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Birmiski can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Birmiski is in all sorts of trouble here.

Krull has control of Birmiski's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Birmiski regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Birmiski is trying desperately to improve position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Birmiski defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Krull.
Krull looks gassed!
Birmiski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Krull looking to ground and pound but Birmiski is blocking nicely.
Krull avoids the attempt from Birmiski to control.
Birmiski sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Birmiski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Krull pulls his head out easily.
Birmiski manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Birmiski is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Krull throws a strike but Birmiski rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Birmiski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Krull throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Birmiski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Krull has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Birmiski has managed to get both his arms back between Krull's legs - danger averted.

Krull is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Birmiski passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Birmiski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Krull, who protects the arm well.

Birmiski thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Birmiski is working to tighten is grip on Krull's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Krull has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Birmiski is really squeezing tight and eventually Krull passes out! Birmiski breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ari Birmiski!
