The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuoppala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koskelo's waist but Koskelo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kuoppala off to one side.

Koskelo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Koskelo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kuoppala keeps working.

Koskelo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kuoppala has hold of Koskelo's hands but Koskelo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Koskelo winds up and cracks Kuoppala with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Koskelo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kuoppala with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Koskelo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
