Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Kourdakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxwell Smart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kourdakov's entrance music is Sonata Arctica - San Sebastian. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Kourdakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxwell Smart!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smart throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smart tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kourdakov was well out of range. Poor timing from Smart.
Kourdakov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kourdakov somewhat.

Kourdakov closes the distance and clinches.
Kourdakov is working for takedown but Smart is calmly controlling the position for now.
Smart looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kourdakov tries for a takedown. No joy.

Smart gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kourdakov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Nice straight punches there by Smart. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Smart.

Smart scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smart shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kourdakov but Kourdakov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Smart wants to break free but Kourdakov has control.
Smart is pressed up against the cage. Kourdakov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smart down to the mat. Smart avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Smart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smart wants it to stay on the feet.

Kourdakov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

and Smart holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kourdakov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smart is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kourdakov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kourdakov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kourdakov decides to stand back up. Kourdakov steps back and let's Smart get back to his feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Smart darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kourdakov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
