Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Reece Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Nieder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Reece Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Nieder!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nieder.

Nieder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Myers is trying to escape the mount.
Myers manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Nieder sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Myers defending well though.
Nieder not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Myers trying to control here.
Nieder throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Nieder is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Myers wants to control but Nieder is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Myers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Myers throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Myers scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nieder is pressing down on Myers's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Nieder wants to get back to his feet but Myers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Myers sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Nieder is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Myers dives into side control.

Myers decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nieder to his feet.

Nieder has his takedown stuffed

and Myers counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nieder looks gassed!

Myers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nieder tries for a takedown but Myers circles away easily

and Myers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Myers.
Reece Myers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Nieder.
Nieder wants to break free but Myers has control.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Myers breaks the clinch.
Nieder tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Myers counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Myers is thwarting Nieder's attempts to control the position.
Myers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Nieder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Myers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nieder is staying active underneath Myers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Myers looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Myers is looking to take a break and control but Nieder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nieder is trying to control but can't.

Myers stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Myers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Myers showed some decent athleticism there.
Myers is controlling the pace.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nieder can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nieder looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Myers is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Nieder working to try and regain half guard.
Myers controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Myers with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Nieder keeps the fight on the outside.
Myers shoots for a takedown but Nieder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Myers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nieder but Nieder pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nieder swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nieder drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Myers is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Nieder is looking to take a break and control but Myers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Myers sneaks back into half guard.

Nieder looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Myers moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Nieder drops back, looking for a kneebar! Myers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Myers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Myers!
Myers trying to control the action but Nieder is working from the bottom.

Myers decides to stand back up. Myers steps back and let's Nieder get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nieder gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Myers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Nieder is striking but Myers is not phased and passes to half guard.
Nieder tries to get to full guard but Myers has control of the leg.
Nieder trying to get back to full guard but Myers takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Nieder that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nieder is working to get back to half guard.
Myers landing shots from mount.
Myers lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Nieder is squirming around, avoiding Myers's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reece Myers dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Myers lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nieder tries to clinch

and Myers counters with a single leg into guard. Nieder didn't expect that.
Myers trying to control but Nieder is working from the bottom.

Myers stands and steps away. Nieder gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Myers misses with a head kick.
Myers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Nieder counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Myers is trying to keep Nieder in close.
Nieder is looking to stand up but Myers won't let him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nieder wants to stand and escape but instead Myers has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Myers won't allow Nieder to sweep him here.
Myers trying to control but Nieder is working from the bottom.
Reece Myers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nieder tries to clinch but Myers moves out of range.
Myers pushes Nieder away with a front kick.

Myers looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Myers tries to stand but Nieder is controlling from the bottom.
Nieder keeping moving, preventing Myers from controlling successfully.
Myers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nieder swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nieder trying to keep a closed guard but Myers is proving a slippery customer.

Nieder had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Myers defends it easily.
Nieder trying to control the position.
Myers trying to control but Nieder is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Myers works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nieder is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nieder darts in trying to clinch

and Myers counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nieder's guard now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nieder holds on and takes a little breather.
Myers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

And that's the end of the fight!
Reece Myers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Myers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
