The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnoff slips a jab and a cross from CPW.
CPW keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

CPW throws a front kick aimed at Smirnoff's knee but Smirnoff avoids it well.

Smirnoff shoots in looking for a takedown. CPW tries to sprawl out of it but Smirnoff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. CPW manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Smirnoff counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. CPW is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

CPW throws a chopping leg kick but Smirnoff manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
CPW scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Smirnoff has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
CPW lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Smirnoff counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Smirnoff.
Smirnoff tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. CPW smiles and moves away.
Smirnoff shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts CPW as he jumps to the side.
