The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertozzi tries to clinch up but Pigg circles away and keeps his distance.
Bertozzi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pigg misses with a looping right.

Pigg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bertozzi moves away.
Pigg takes a swing at Bertozzi's ribcage but misses.
Carlo Bertozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bertozzi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bertozzi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pigg scores with a body shot.
Bertozzi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pigg throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pigg throws a left that rocks Bertozzi and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Pigg dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Bertozzi regain composure!
It looks like Carlo Bertozzi has been cut.
Pigg working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pigg lands a nice forearm strike.
Bertozzi is rocked!
Pigg scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bertozzi is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Pigg can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
