Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, fred magners! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, sol sunday! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! magners shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. magners with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
sunday tries to reverse the position but magners maintains control. magners wants to control the pace but sunday is squirming around nicely. sunday is trying desperately to improve position. magners lands a heavy elbow. magners stands up from mount. Strange move. magners tries to clinch but sunday moves out of range. sunday gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and magners counters with a shoot takedown. sunday fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. sunday keeping full guard, as magners tries to pass. magners got a little sloppy there for a moment and sunday has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, magners has managed to get both his arms back between sunday's legs - danger averted. sunday is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! magners trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. sunday looking for a guillotine here but magners defends easily.
sunday working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. magners doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. magners manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. magners passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. magners works to advance to full mount. sunday defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. sunday really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
magners controlling from mount. magners tries to control but sunday wriggling away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. magners mounts sunday! Really nice guard pass there! sunday wants to hold on but magners pushes him away. sunday is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. magners controlling from the full mount. magners moves to take his opponent's back. sunday is keeping busy.
magners knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for sunday on the ground. magners working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. sunday is doing well to defend. magners seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! sunday is forced to tap and this one is over!
