Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arjen Robben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zig Trainner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robben defending well as Trainner loads up on a big left hand.
Trainner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Trainner wants it to stay on the feet.
Trainner gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Robben.
Trainner works Robben's body with a nice hook.
Trainner throws a right and a left that both miss.
Trainner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Trainner connects with a crisp jab.
Robben shoots for a double leg takedown but Trainner sprawls well. He's pushed Robben's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Robben shoots in looking for a takedown. Trainner tries to sprawl out of it but Robben keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trainner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arjen Robben. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trainner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Trainner throws a right hand that Robben ducks under and follows up with a left that Robben also avoids with ease.
Robben shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trainner as he jumps to the side.

Trainner throws a combination. Robben tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Trainner is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Robben rather than just go for the knockout.
Trainner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Robben is rocked!

Trainner wanted to stand there but Robben had control of the position.
Robben trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Trainner has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Robben is proving hard to escape from.
Trainner wants to stand and escape but instead Robben has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Robben prevents Trainner from getting back to his feet.

Robben thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trainner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Robben is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Robben throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Trainner's waist but Trainner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Robben off to one side.
Trainner misses with the combination.
Robben fails to land the takedown.
Trainner changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Trainner scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Trainner sizes up Robben with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Trainner looks to land a combination but Robben avoids it well.
Trainner throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Robben slips under a jab.
Robben throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Trainner avoids the head kick by Robben.
Arjen Robben seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trainner connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Robben is looking to slow Trainner down with leg kicks.
Trainner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Robben's head.

Robben shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trainner as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Robben.

Trainner connects with a good right hand that stumbles Robben. Robben circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Trainner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Robben looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Trainner stalks Robben and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Robben's face. Robben staggers backwards, shaken.
Trainner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Robben avoids a punch combination nicely.
Trainner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zig Trainner seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Trainner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Robben connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Robben throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Trainner's waist but Trainner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Robben off to one side.
Trainner connects with a good right hand that stumbles Robben. Robben circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Trainner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Trainner counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Robben is defended easily by Trainner.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Robben. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trainner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Robben slips a nice elbow through Trainner's hands, connecting with Trainner's forehead.
Trainner won't allow Robben to pass to mount.
Trainner pushes Robben off looking to stand but Robben dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zig Trainner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Trainner wants to stand and escape but Robben is having none of it.

Trainner has momentary wrist control but Robben slips an elbow through the middle.

Trainner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Robben looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Trainner moves out of range of the body kick from Robben.
Robben goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Robben darts in trying to clinch
and Trainner counters with a nice uppercut.
Zig Trainner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Trainner counters with a stiff right hand.
Robben misses with a double jab.
Robben gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Trainner stalks Robben and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Robben's face. Robben staggers backwards, shaken.

Trainner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Arjen Robben has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Trainner is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

I would just about give that final round to Zig Trainner.
I've got Trainner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
