PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukas Podolski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Jalinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lukas Podolski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Jalinski!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Podolski looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Podolski wants to pass the guard but Jalinski is keeping the position.
Jalinski is trying to control the position but Podolski postures up.
Jalinski has a closed guard, preventing Podolski from standing up.

Jalinski had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Podolski is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jalinski Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Podolski's back instead.
Even with his hooks in, Jalinski manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Podolski is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Jalinski has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Podolski has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jalinski doesn't have the hooks in and Podolski manages to turn into his guard.
Jalinski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Podolski is controlling him.
Jalinski looks gassed!
Podolski lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Podolski decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Podolski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jalinski tries for a takedown but Podolski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Podolski counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Podolski.
Jalinski is looking to stand up but Podolski isn't so interested in that idea.

Jalinski has his foot on Podolski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Podolski works his way back into a safe position though.

so Podolski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lukas Podolski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Jalinski.
Jalinski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Podolski is controlling him.
Podolski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Podolski slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jalinski is looking to reverse the position.
Podolski cracks Jalinski with an elbow. That is naaassty.
What's Jalinski going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Jalinski is trying to improve his position.
Jalinski can't do much from the bottom here.
Jalinski is trying to keep from getting into a worse position than he's already in but Jalinski is working away and isn't letting himself get tied up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lukas Podolski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jalinski chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Podolski can pounce on him.

and Podolski counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Podolski wants to control from the top but Jalinski keeps moving.

Podolski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jalinski wants to stand and escape but Podolski is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Podolski clinches up with Jalinski and pushes him back against the cage.
Jalinski's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Podolski is fighting to break Jalinski's control of his arms but Jalinski is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jalinski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Podolski's guard.

Podolski has momentary wrist control but Jalinski slips an elbow through the middle.
Jalinski content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Jalinski tries to free his leg and advance position but Podolski is retaining full guard.

Podolski looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jalinski passes into side control.

Podolski sneaks out the side door and pushes Jalinski away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Podolski scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Podolski is staying tight to Jalinski's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Podolski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jalinski for as long as he can get away with.
Jalinski sneaks back into half guard.
Jalinski wants to control but Podolski is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jalinski on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jalinski wants to improve his position but Podolski is controlling well.
Jalinski keeps control of the position for the meantime.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jalinski is looking to control Podolski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jalinski avoid being mounted?

Jalinski keeping hold of Podolski's head, controlling as best he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jalinski manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Podolski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jalinski but Jalinski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lukas Podolski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jalinski postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jalinski passes Podolski's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Nice strikes from Jalinski there.

Jalinski decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jalinski shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Jalinski slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Jalinski lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Jason Jalinski!
