Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanji Yokohama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sanji Yokohama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eddie Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yokohama throws a big shot that misses.
Bravo blocks a head kick by Yokohama.
Bravo misses with a wild body shot.
A nice combination there by Yokohama.

Bravo scores a takedown into full mount!
Yokohama wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bravo.
Bravo scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Yokohama tries to control Bravo's body but Bravo pushes him off. Yokohama squirms to his side and now Bravo has his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bravo controlling the positon.

Yokohama fending off the submission attempt from Bravo.
Yokohama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bravo lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Yokohama has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Good control from Bravo.
Bravo punches the canvas rather than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yokohama covers up after that shot from Bravo.
Bravo is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Bravo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bravo is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Bravo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Yokohama is in a bad position with Bravo working for a choke. Yokohama manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Bravo pulls Yokohama in close to prevent any damage.
Bravo is trying to keep Yokohama in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bravo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bravo keeping moving, preventing Yokohama from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Bravo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bravo tries to clinch but Yokohama moves out of range.
Bravo blocks a head kick by Yokohama.
Sanji Yokohama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Yokohama has a takedown stuffed.
Yokohama throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Yokohama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bravo.
Bravo doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Yokohama moves into the clinch.
Bravo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Yokohama.
Bravo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yokohama tries to pull guard but Bravo holds him up against the cage and eventually Yokohama drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sanji Yokohama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bravo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A frustrated look appears on Yokohama's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yokohama jumps into guard, dragging Bravo to the mat.
Bravo looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Yokohama isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bravo stacks Yokohama on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bravo!
Bravo controls the position.
Bravo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yokohama down.
Bravo throws a strike aimed at the side of Yokohama's head but Yokohama avoids it well.

Bravo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bravo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Yokohama being controlled for a moment.

Check out the look on Bravo's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Bravo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Yokohama to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bravo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bravo fails to land the takedown.
Yokohama fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bravo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bravo stands and throws Yokohama's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bravo just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bravo landing a few strikes.
Bravo lands a nice forearm strike.

Bravo stands up.
Yokohama avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bravo throws the kick towards the body but Yokohama avoids it.
Yokohama misses with a few strikes there.

Bravo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bravo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Bravo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Bravo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Yokohama holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Yokohama lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Yokohama avoids a wild elbow strike from Bravo.
Bravo is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Yokohama is keeping busy.

Yokohama pulls Bravo into guard.

Yokohama working for submissions but it's allowed Bravo to get to half guard.
Bravo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Yokohama is staying active underneath Bravo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bravo in particular looking to stall.
Bravo wants to control but Yokohama is keeping him busy.

Bravo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Yokohama tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bravo!
