The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho lands a slapping body shot.

Jake tries to clinch up. Ho fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Jake looks gassed! Ho throws the kick towards the body but Jake avoids it. Ho lands with a straight right. Jake didn't see that one coming. Don Ho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ho connects with a body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ho moves into range and connects with a jab. Jake shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Ho throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jake stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jake checks a leg kick. Jake on the wrong end of a nice jab. Jake checks the leg kick. Ho sizes up Jake with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Drake Jake has been cut. Ho throws and low kick but Jake moves out of range easily. Ho scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jake takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jake walks into a jab. Ho scores with a jab to the body. Ho throws a leg kick but Jake sees it coming and moves out of range.

Ho lands with a cross. Ho throws a head kick that misses. Jake walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Ho fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Ho connects with a looping right hand.

This has been an exciting period of action! Ho lunges at Jake with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jake's hand. Jake on the wrong end of a nice hook. Ho uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jake has time to react. Jake drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ho is looking to land body kicks. Ho scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ho catches Jake with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ho is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Ho lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ho dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ho jabs Jake right on the nose. Jake blinks but takes it well. A cross from Ho lands. Ho is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jake blocks a leg kick. Jake tries to clinch up but Ho circles away and keeps his distance. Ho throws a solid leg kick but Jake takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ho. Ho is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Good standup being displayed there by Ho as he connects with a hook. Ho digs a good hook to Jake's body.

Ho leaves Jake with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ho listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ho lands a jab. Don Ho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ho shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ho wants to land a leg kick but Jake is out of range. Ho tests Jake's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jake fails with the takedown. Ho thuds a left hand into Jake's body. Ho connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jake's hands. Jake changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ho tries to avoid it but Jake manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ho to the ground. Ho escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Don Ho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drake Jake. Jake is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nice body punch from Ho. Ho with a hook. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ho misses with a head kick.

Ho digs a good body shot into Jake's ribs. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ho is looking to chop away at Jake's legs. Ho throws a shot to the body.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Jake might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Ho has got the better of the exchanges. Jake has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Ho lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jake takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ho scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ho displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ho, as that shot connected.
Jake drops his hands momentarily and Ho takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Ho with a nice cross. Jake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ho paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nice cross by Ho. Jake fails with the takedown. Ho jabs at Jake's body.
