Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corwyn Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Percy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potts comes to the cage accompanied by Mama Said Knock you Out. Corwyn Potts has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwyn Potts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Percy! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Percy fails to land the takedown. Percy shoots for a double leg takedown but Potts sprawls well. He's pushed Percy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Potts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Percy makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Potts takes the fight into the clinch. Percy has hold of one of Potts's legs. Potts is fighting the takedown attempt but Percy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Potts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Percy on the ground. Potts has his foot on Percy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Percy works his way back into a safe position though. Percy postures up.
Percy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Potts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Percy has managed to get both his arms back between Potts's legs - danger averted. Percy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Percy drops back looking for a leg! Potts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Potts manages to kick Percy off! Percy jumps back into Potts's guard. Potts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Percy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Percy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Percy wants to pass the guard but Potts is keeping the position. Percy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Potts manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Percy has Potts in his guard. Potts tries to free his leg and advance position but Percy is retaining full guard. Potts has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Potts won't allow Percy to get back to his feet. Potts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Percy looks gassed! Potts landing some decent shots from guard. Potts is looking to work some ground and pound but Percy has wrist control. Potts wants to pass the guard but Percy is keeping the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Potts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Percy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potts with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Percy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Potts looking to pass the guard. Potts drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Percy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Potts has Percy in his guard. Percy throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Potts controls Percy momentarily but Percy frees himself. Potts looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. The fight stays on the outside here - Potts looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Corwyn Potts will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Percy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Potts counters by clinching up. Percy tries to stall but Potts uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Potts has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Percy regains guard immediately. Percy wants to stand up but Potts is controlling him. Percy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Potts stands up over Percy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Percy keeping moving, preventing Potts from controlling successfully. Percy wants to stand but Potts is controlling the position. Potts trying to control the position from guard on top but Percy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Potts with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Potts wants to control from the top but Percy keeps moving. Potts won't allow Percy to get back to his feet. Potts working some strikes from top position. Potts working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potts keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Percy's head. Potts wants to control from the top but Percy keeps moving. Potts stands up from Percy's guard - Potts perhaps looking for a knockout. Potts is looking to clinch but Percy is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Percy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Potts counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Percy's guard now. Potts stops Percy from standing up. Potts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Percy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Potts is controlling him. Potts postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Corwyn Potts dominated that second round. That's time! Potts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Potts is trying to drag Percy to the mat but Percy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Potts has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Percy regains guard immediately. Potts gets to his feet - Percy follows without any prompting. Potts forces Percy back against the cage and clinches. Percy tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Corwyn Potts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Percy. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
John Percy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Potts. Potts scores with a takedown into Percy's guard. Potts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Percy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Percy scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Potts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Percy misses with a takedown and Potts counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Percy! Percy is trying to stand up. Potts postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Percy looks a forlorn figure.
Potts fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Potts looking to finish Percy with some ground and pound. This is bad for Percy! Corwyn Potts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Potts won't let Percy get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Potts is in the full mount, landing strikes. Percy is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Potts wants to control the pace but Percy is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Percy squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Potts tries to control but Percy wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Potts connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Corwyn Potts is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Potts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. John Percy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Potts trying to control but Percy is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Corwyn Potts showed his dominance in that final round. Well Potts has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
