Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jak Progresso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). shannon comes to the cage accompanied by yesterdays headlines. Progresso comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dance Hall Days kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jak Progresso!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
shannon fails with the takedown.
Progresso misses with a wild body shot.
Jak Progresso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Progresso lands a glancing blow to the side of shannon's head.
shannon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Progresso throws out the jab.
shannon tries a head kick but it misses.
Progresso connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A telegraphed right hand from Progresso misses the target.
shannon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Progresso.
Progresso misses with a looping right.
shannon on the wrong end of a nice jab.
shannon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
shannon has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from shannon there as he acknowledges the shot.
shannon moves out of range as Progresso strikes.
A punch lands to the side of shannon 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Progresso looks to land a right hand but shannon moved out of range.
Progresso throws an uppercut from half a mile away. shannon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
shannon walks into a stiff left hand from Progresso.
shannon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Progresso throws out the jab.
shannon ducks under a wild hook from Progresso.
Jak Progresso is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
shannon slips under a jab from Progresso.
shannon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Progresso tries to avoid it but shannon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Progresso to the ground. Progresso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
shannon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Progresso throws an overhand right that lands on shannon's shoulder, as shannon tries to avoid the shot.
shannon shoots for a takedown but Progresso saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick shannon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
shannon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Progresso pinned against the cage. Progresso gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
shannon dives in and grabs Progresso's left leg, looking for a takedown. Progresso pushes down on shannon's head and hops out.
shannon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Progresso looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

shannon is trying to get an arm triangle but Progresso is defending well.
Progresso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with shannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Progresso tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but shannon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
shannon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Progresso wants to control but shannon postures up.
shannon is trying to get an arm triangle but Progresso is defending well.
Progresso is looking for a sweep.

Progresso is trying desperately to improve position.

Progresso is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Progresso tries to reverse the position but shannon maintains control.
Progresso wants to hold on but shannon pushes him away.
shannon landing strikes, looking to finish!
shannon throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Progresso because shannon loaded up on that one.
shannon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Progresso is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Progresso defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from shannon.
Progresso is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Progresso slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
shannon is trying for a kimura here. Progresso looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! shannon wins by kimura!
