The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stam closes the distance and pushes Sherm back into the cage.
Stam lands an elbow inside that Sherm shrugs off.

It looks like Frank Sherm has been cut.
Sherm tries to pull guard but Stam holds him up against the cage and eventually Sherm drops back down to his feet.

Stam tries to land knees in the clinch but Sherm avoids the damage to the body.

Hasse Stam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Sherm.

Sherm decides to pull guard.

Sherm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stam can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stam is sitting in close to Sherm's body. Sherm has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Stam is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Stam is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sherm.
