Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandoval comes to the ring accompanied by Enrique's Entrance. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Enrique Sandoval!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Correa!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval wants to clinch.
Sandoval wants to clinch up but Correa keeps it at a distance.
Jab from Correa.
Correa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Correa throws a right hand that Sandoval ducks under and follows up with a left that Sandoval also avoids with ease.
Sandoval slips a straight right by Correa.
Sandoval tries to clinch but Correa moves out of range.
Sandoval tries to close the distance and clinch up but Correa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Correa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sandoval sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Correa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sandoval.
Correa lands a lovely overhand right.
Correa closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Correa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sandoval to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sandoval accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sandoval postures up.
Correa is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Correa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Correa is trying to keep Sandoval in close.
Sandoval tries to free his leg and advance position but Correa is retaining full guard.
Sandoval stands and throws Correa's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sandoval is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Correa has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Correa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sandoval off and has taken his back!
Sandoval might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sandoval trying to control the action but Correa just sinks the hooks in.
Correa slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sandoval breaks Correa's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Correa is trying to keep Sandoval in close.

Sandoval drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sandoval jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Correa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Correa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Correa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sandoval kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Eric Correa just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Correa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Enrique Sandoval has been cut.
Enrique Sandoval seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Correa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sandoval as he avoids it easily.

Correa tests Sandoval's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Eric Correa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sandoval walks into a jab.
Sandoval wants to clinch up but Correa keeps it at a distance.
Sandoval missing with a left hand there. Correa was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sandoval moves in looking to clinch but Correa pushes him off.
Sandoval will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Correa catches Sandoval with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Sandoval closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Correa tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Correa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sandoval takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Sandoval tries for a takedown but Correa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sandoval fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Correa avoids it really well and circles away.

No joy there for Correa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sandoval shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Correa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Correa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Correa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sandoval defends it easily.
Correa is adopting a defensive guard.

Sandoval wants to pass the guard but Correa is keeping the position.
Sandoval postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Correa is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Correa throws the left hand but Sandoval avoids the punch easily.
Correa leaves Sandoval with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sandoval shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Correa as he avoids it easily.
Correa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Enrique Sandoval is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Correa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sandoval.
Sandoval moves in looking to clinch but Correa pushes him off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Correa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sandoval's head backwards.

Sandoval fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Correa sprawls well initially but Sandoval persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sandoval is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Correa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sandoval.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Correa lands a hook that stumbles Sandoval back into the ropes. Correa follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Sandoval to the canvas! Correa pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Sandoval has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Eric Correa!
