The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson keeps the fight on the outside.
Bravo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carson's waist but Carson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bravo off to one side.
Carson misses with a double jab.
Bravo falls off balance throwing a combination

and Carson counters by moving into the clinch.
Bravo tries to pull guard but Carson won't allow it.
Carson lands with a right to the head.
Bravo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Bravo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bravo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Carson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bravo fails to pull guard.
Bravo tries to pull guard but Carson won't allow it.

Carson lands a hook to the side of the head.

Bravo decides to pull guard.
Bravo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Carson wants to stand and escape but instead Bravo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Bravo stops Carson from standing up.
Bravo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carson is keeping the position for now.
Bravo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bravo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carson dives on top into guard.

Bravo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Carson frees his head nicely. Oh but Bravo has switched to an armbar! Carson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
