And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin Rain!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grabowski pinned against the cage. Grabowski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Grabowski avoids it really well and circles away.
Grabowski checks a leg kick nicely.

Grabowski is trying to trip Rain. He has hold of a leg but Rain is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Grabowski persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rain can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rain shoots in looking for a takedown. Grabowski tries to sprawl out of it but Rain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grabowski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mieczyslaw Grabowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Rain.

Rain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Rain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Grabowski walks away with a smile on his face. Rain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Martin Rain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grabowski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rain somewhat.

Rain connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rain moves out of range of the strikes.
Grabowski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grabowski wants it to stay on the feet.

Grabowski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rain to the mat! Rain manages to get full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Grabowski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rain for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grabowski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
