Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, ShOoTs Blanks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gustav Reich!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanks rushes Reich and presses him up against the cage.
Blanks turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blanks manages to end up in side control.
Reich manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Blanks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Reich throwing shots but Blanks is blocking nicely.
Reich missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reich tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blanks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Blanks looking for submissions off his back.
Reich passes to side control.
Reich has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Blanks is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Blanks is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Reich throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Blanks avoids a series of strikes thrown by Reich.
Reich throws some wild stikes that Blanks manages to avoid easily.
Reich working for a guillotine from mount but Blanks is in no mood to give up.
Reich goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Blanks is on top in guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Blanks won't allow Reich to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blanks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Blanks gets to his feet. Reich looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reich looks to land a left hand but Blanks moved out of range nicely.
Reich throws a shot from downtown. Blanks moves away and avoids it.
Reich shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blanks napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Reich in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Blanks is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Gustav Reich!
