PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Buzzard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noob Brother (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Buzzard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noob Brother!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brother throws a right hand that Buzzard ducks under and follows up with a left that Buzzard also avoids with ease.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brother is defended easily by Buzzard.
Brother steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Buzzard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buzzard moves out of range as Brother strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buzzard throws a nice looking combination but Brother bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Buzzard misses with a straight left.
Brother displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Buzzard throws out the jab.
Nice uppercut lands for Buzzard. That snapped Brother's head back.

Brother gets the takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buzzard wants to control but Brother postures up.
Brother postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Buzzard tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brother wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brother misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Brother tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
You can see the frustration on Buzzard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Brother shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buzzard as he jumps to the side.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Buzzard gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buzzard comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Noob Brother has been cut.
Buzzard throws an elbow but it misses.
Brother tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Buzzard will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Noob Brother's cut.
That's time! Buzzard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Brother throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Buzzard was covering up waiting for the punch and Brother finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brother postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Brother postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Brother throws a big right hand that misses.
Buzzard is trying to control the position but Brother postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Buzzard pulls Brother in close to prevent any damage.
Buzzard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Buzzard is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Brother.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Buzzard waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Brother.
Buzzard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brother.

Buzzard tries to clinch up but Brother circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noob Brother showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Buzzard looks to land a right hand but Brother moved out of range.
Buzzard slips a jab and a cross from Brother.

Brother changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Buzzard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Buzzard struggling a bit here.

Brother cracks Buzzard with a big elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brother creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Buzzard sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Brother looks up at the clock and then as Buzzard takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brother smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Buzzard takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Brother wants to control but Buzzard is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buzzard defending against the ground and pound.
Brother cracks Buzzard with a big elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brother throws a strike aimed at the side of Buzzard's head but Buzzard avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buzzard managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brother.
Buzzard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Brother is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Buzzard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Brother working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Buzzard takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Noob Brother comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brother has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
