Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vlodimir Voronin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Raid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vlodimir Voronin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ali Raid!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Raid or perhaps it was just good defense by Voronin which made him look bad.
Raid fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Voronin misses with a wild combination.
Voronin shoots in for a double leg but Raid sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Voronin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Raid counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Voronin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Voronin tries to clinch up.
Voronin is looking to clinch but Raid is avoiding it.
Raid shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Voronin but Voronin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vlodimir Voronin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ali Raid.
Voronin shoots in but no luck this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Raid counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Voronin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Raid is working away from the top position though.

Raid looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Raid seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Voronin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Raid postures up.
Raid working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Raid is pushing down on Voronin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Voronin is fighting to maintain full guard but Raid has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Raid is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Voronin defends it well.
Voronin wants to control but Raid is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Raid takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Voronin tries to kick Raid off but Raid keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Voronin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Voronin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Raid in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Raid looking to sit in guard and control but Voronin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Voronin trying to control the position from guard on top but Raid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Raid looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Voronin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Raid is keeping the position for now.
Raid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Voronin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Voronin is breathing heavily.

Raid looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Voronin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Voronin shoots in for a takedown but Raid shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Voronin doesn't manage to clinch there - Raid circles away.

Raid closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Voronin did well to prevent Raid getting side control.
Voronin wants to control but Raid is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Raid is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ali Raid dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Voronin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Raid is trying hard to land a takedown here. Voronin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Voronin dives in and grabs Raid's left leg, looking for a takedown. Raid pushes down on Voronin's head and hops out.
Raid scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Vlodimir Voronin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Voronin counters with a straight right hand.
Raid shoots in for a double leg but Voronin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Voronin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Raid sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Voronin somewhat.

Voronin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Raid misses with an attempted mid kick.
Raid throws a front kick aimed at Voronin's knee but Voronin avoids it well.
Raid tries to clinch there but Voronin circles away.
Voronin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Raid counters by moving into the clinch.
Raid wants to break free but Voronin has control.
Voronin keeps control of Raid as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Voronin fails to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Raid can't get the takedown.
Raid tries to pull guard but Voronin won't allow it.
Raid has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Voronin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Raid wants to stall.
Raid struggles to land a body shot inside as Voronin controls his hands.

Voronin successfully pulls guard.

Raid pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Voronin is keeping the position for now.
Raid throws a strike but Voronin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Voronin trying to control but Raid is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Raid doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Raid shoots in but no luck this time.
Raid looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Voronin is looking to clinch.
Raid shoots in but no luck this time.
Voronin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Raid counters with a nice double leg into side control. Voronin won't be happy with that.
Raid is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Voronin's shoulder. That is not cool.
Raid trying to control the position but Voronin is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ali Raid showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Voronin takes one on the button.
Raid shoots for a double leg takedown but Voronin sprawls well. He's pushed Raid's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Raid throws a head kick but Voronin moves out of range.

Raid drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Voronin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Raid really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Ali Raid has got the better of the ground game so far.

Voronin tries to control but Raid wriggling away.
Voronin lands a big elbow.
Raid is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voronin avoids the attempt from Raid to control.
Raid wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Voronin.
Voronin moves to the back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Voronin trying to control momentarily.
Voronin avoiding Raid 's attempts to control his hands.
Voronin trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Raid trying to control the action but Voronin just sinks the hooks in.
Raid is trying to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Raid defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Raid tries to escape the position.
Voronin is not going to allow Raid to sit and survive in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Raid's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Voronin's hands.
I really don't envy Raid right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Raid is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Vlodimir Voronin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ali Raid is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Voronin has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vlodimir Voronin.
I think Raid has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
