Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chosto Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chosto Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Graves! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Graves's waist but Graves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rodriguez off to one side. Rodriguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Graves pinned against the cage. Graves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodriguez. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chosto Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodriguez looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Graves manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Graves looking for a guillotine from mount but Rodriguez is having none of it. Graves tries to control but Rodriguez wriggling away. Graves stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Graves as he jumps to the side. Graves fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez misses with a takedown and Graves counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rodriguez won't be happy with that. Rodriguez is breathing heavily. Graves has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Rodriguez fails with the takedown and Graves counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Graves in particular looking to stall. Rodriguez tries to roll over but Graves keeps him under control. Graves stops Rodriguez from getting back to his feet.
Rodriguez wants to improve his position but Graves is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed and Graves counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rodriguez gets full guard. Rodriguez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rodriguez misses with a head shot. Graves uses the momentum to regain guard. Rodriguez distracts Graves with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Graves keeping full guard, as Rodriguez tries to pass. Graves controlling the position. Rodriguez advances position into side control! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rodriguez working the ground and pound. Rodriguez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Graves on the ground. Rodriguez is chipping away with strikes.

What's Graves going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Graves takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Graves taking a bit of punishment here - Rodriguez scoring with strikes. Rodriguez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Graves has escaped the position, nice work there. Graves tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rodriguez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rodriguez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Graves sneaks back into half guard. Graves is trying to maintain the position but Rodriguez is very close to passing his half guard. Graves wants to get back to his feet. Graves makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Graves.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rodriguez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rodriguez scoring with punches to the head and body. Rodriguez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Graves is trying to control the position but Rodriguez postures up. Rodriguez working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Graves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rodriguez connects with a couple of short punches. Graves preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Graves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rodriguez. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Graves controlling the position. Rodriguez advances position into side control! Graves tries to get back to half guard but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Graves stops Rodriguez from passing to mount. Rodriguez scores with a couple of short elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Michael Graves will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Rodriguez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Graves pulls his leg out and moves away.

Rodriguez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Graves slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That has opened up Michael Graves's cut even more. Rodriguez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Rodriguez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Graves is bucking up trying to escape but Rodriguez cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rodriguez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Michael Graves's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Graves wants to try and get back to his feet. Rodriguez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Graves looks a forlorn figure.
