Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Happy Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cory Poole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Happy Jack could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to cory Poole's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Happy Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, cory Poole!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack misses with a low kick.
Jack misses with a series of wild punches.
Jack stuffs the takedown attempt from Poole. Poole gets slowly back to his feet.
Poole throws a sloppy head kick and Jack moves out of range easily.

Jack rushes Poole and presses him up against the cage.
Jack throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Poole tries to pull guard but Jack holds him up against the cage and eventually Poole drops back down to his feet.
Jack wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jack is trying to break free.
Jack misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Poole.

Poole manages to pull guard.
Poole preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Poole trying to keep a closed guard but Jack is proving a slippery customer.
Jack postures up in Poole's guard and throws a big left but Poole blocks it.
Jack working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jack cracks Poole with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Jack with the ground and pound but Poole regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Jack lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Jack landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Jack wants to take a breather but Poole is having none of it.
Jack is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Poole looks gassed!
Jack not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jack thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Poole's head.
Jack is nestled in close to Poole, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jack throws a strike but Poole avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Jack postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Jack postures up and lands a big shot to Poole's brow.
Jack is stalling in the full guard.
Jack throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jack working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jack won't allow Poole to sweep him here.
Jack thows a big elbow that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jack lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jack presses Poole against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jack.
A short right from Jack on the inside.

Jack manages to break the clinch.

Jack feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jack lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Jack got a little sloppy there for a moment and Poole has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jack has managed to get both his arms back between Poole's legs - danger averted.
Jack postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jack chips away with some ground and pound.
Jack with a flurry of punches that miss.

Poole takes one to the side of the head.

Jack feints and as Poole raises his hands in defense, Jack changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jack in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jack wants to get up but he can't break Poole's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jack is looking to work some ground and pound but Poole has wrist control.
Jack keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Poole's head.
Jack with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Poole keeping moving, preventing Jack from controlling successfully.
Jack missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jack might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jack throws a strike but Poole rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jack is on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jack lands a couple of digs.
Jack is pushing down on Poole's leg trying to pass to half guard. Poole is fighting to maintain full guard but Jack has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jack takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jack is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Poole has managed to free his arm - good work.

Jack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Poole does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jack has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Poole can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jack wants to finish this one by submission but Poole is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jack.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Poole shoots and misses
and Jack counters with a nice body shot.

Jack rushes Poole and presses him up against the cage.
Jack is pressed up against the cage. Poole has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jack down to the mat. Jack avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jack closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Poole on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Jack decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jack tries to work over Poole's front leg with a kick but Poole checks it.
Jack uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jack cracks the inside of Poole's front leg.

Jack shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jack was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jack has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Poole's face.

Jack fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Jack pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Happy Jack overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jack postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Poole looks a forlorn figure.
Jack can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Poole is looking to escape.

Jack lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Happy Jack is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jack takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jack seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Poole for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Jack has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
