Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between even DAWSON (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rory Owen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, even DAWSON! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rory Owen! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DAWSON closes the distance and pushes Owen back into the cage. DAWSON could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. DAWSON content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Owen wants to break free but DAWSON has control.
Owen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Owen misses with an uppercut. DAWSON saw that one coming. Owen with a jab. DAWSON gets a takedown into half guard. DAWSON controlling the pace. DAWSON is looking to take a break and control but Owen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Owen wants to improve his position but DAWSON is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Owen wants to get back to full guard. Owen keeping control of the position. Owen trying to hold on to DAWSON's head to control him but DAWSON postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Owen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Owen wants it to stay on the feet. DAWSON drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Rory Owen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Owen does no damage. DAWSON changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Owen tries to avoid it but DAWSON manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Owen to the ground. Owen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Owen lands with a right hand. Owen misses the jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DAWSON walks into a jab. Owen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Owen connects with a nice cross there... DAWSON is looking wobbly and Owen recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send DAWSON to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Owen jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rory Owen!
