Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sosa Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Arm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sosa Escobar has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sosa Escobar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jorma Arm!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arm misses with a series of wild punches.
Escobar drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Escobar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Escobar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Arm throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Escobar looks to score with a jab to the body but Arm is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Escobar or perhaps it was just good defense by Arm which made him look bad.

Escobar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Arm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Arm struggling a bit here.

Escobar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Arm to his feet.
Arm swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Escobar counters with a single leg into guard. Arm didn't expect that.

Arm wants to sweep here but Escobar controlling him for the moment.

Arm is working an open guard so Escobar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Escobar shoots in but Arm avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Escobar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Escobar forces Arm back against the cage and clinches.
Escobar wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sosa Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Arm ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Arm no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Let's hope that Arm has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Arm looking for a sweep. Not yet Arm, not yet.

Escobar tries to stand but Arm is controlling from the bottom.
Escobar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Arm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Arm clinches up with Escobar and pushes him back against the cage.

Arm tries to pull guard but Escobar won't allow it.

Arm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A looping hook to the body misses from Arm. Escobar does a little dance to reset his feet.

so Arm counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Arm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Escobar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Escobar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Escobar wants to stand up but Arm is controlling him.
Arm trying to control the position from guard on top but Escobar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Arm passes Escobar's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Arm working over Escobar with some ground and pound. Escobar looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Arm thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Escobar's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Escobar is looking to control Arm's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Escobar avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arm stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jorma Arm will probably get the nod.

Escobar avoids a punch combination nicely.
Escobar tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Arm makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Arm is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Escobar.
Arm throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Escobar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Arm thinking.
Arm throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Arm holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Escobar tries to break free but Arm pushes him back against the cage.
Arm gets through Escobar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Arm tries to score a body lock takedown but Escobar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Escobar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Arm avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Escobar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Escobar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Arm looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Arm lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Escobar is refusing to be controlled, as Arm sits in half guard.

Escobar is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Arm scores with a couple of nice shots.
Arm is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Escobar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Arm has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Arm lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Escobar down.

Jorma Arm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Arm feints and as Escobar raises his hands in defense, Arm changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Arm pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Escobar is keeping the position for now.

Arm looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Arm is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Arm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Escobar kicks off Arm and gets to his feet.
Sosa Escobar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Escobar keeps the fight on the outside.
Escobar closes the distance but Arm moves to the side
enabling Arm to counter with a crisp jab.
Arm swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Arm shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl out of it but Arm keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Arm moves into the clinch.

Escobar is trying to break the clinch but Arm has him pressed against the cage.

Arm has a takedown stuffed.

Arm looks to land a right hand but Escobar moved out of range.

Escobar tries to keep at a distance but Arm has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jorma Arm is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Arm prevents Escobar from breaking the clinch.

It looks like Sosa Escobar has been cut.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Escobar wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Arm pulls guard effortlessly.

Sosa Escobar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Arm throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Arm pulls Escobar in close to prevent any damage.

Jorma Arm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Arm has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
