PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between mark robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suzuki has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Akira Suzuki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki throws a sloppy head kick and robinson moves out of range easily.

robinson throws a right hand that Suzuki ducks under and follows up with a left that Suzuki also avoids with ease.

No joy there for robinson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A head kick misses from Suzuki.
robinson throws a lazy right hand but Suzuki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

robinson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Suzuki is pushing robinson's head away, looking to escape. robinson manages to hold on to the position though.
robinson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
robinson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Suzuki sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

robinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

robinson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

robinson closes the distance looking for a takedown. Suzuki stuffs it but robinson still has hold of him. robinson picks Suzuki up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. robinson slams Suzuki to the floor and that's really hurt Suzuki - he doesn't know where he is! robinson throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
