Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, tom Nelligan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Owen Fawcett! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelligan fails to land the takedown. Fawcett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nelligan shoots for a double leg takedown but Fawcett sprawls well. He's pushed Nelligan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nelligan moves into the clinch successfully.
Nelligan tries to pull guard but Fawcett holds him up against the cage and eventually Nelligan drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tom Nelligan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelligan displaying some good clinch control by pressing Fawcett up against the cage. Nelligan really is a fat lump. A short left from Nelligan. Nelligan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Fawcett wants to sweep but no luck. Fawcett working for a triangle but Nelligan defends it easily.
Fawcett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nelligan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

No chance. Nelligan trying to control the position from guard on top but Fawcett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fawcett wants to sweep but no luck. Nelligan is sitting in close to Fawcett's body. Fawcett has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nelligan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nelligan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Fawcett.
